Parallel Lines and Transversal

A line which intersects two or more lines at distinct points is called a transversal. Line m1 intersects lines l1 and l2 at points P and Q respectively. Therefore, line m1 is a transversal for lines l1 and l2.

Observe that four angles are formed at each of the points P and Q.

Different angles are:
Exterior angles
Interior angles
Corresponding angles
Alternate Interior Angles
Alternate Exterior Angles
Interior Angles on same side
